Mayor Tony Yarber’s Orange Cone Committee CAN'T decides which streets...


Why is this still such a hard process. You at a citizen vote for something you don't believe is going to work, and it proves to be true. For some reason. The issue that surrounds financing the street repair in the city of Jackson seems to be harder than quantum physics. But this is more proof. That the constant kicking of the can down the road for the next person since '88 has placed us almost to a point of no return. We are patiently awaiting the state of emergency speech. We know that it is coming. What is a question that you would ask Mayor Yarber?

JPD: "We were not called..." Man killed in crash involving shoplifting suspects.

The Clinton Police Department recently released videos of a chase that involved a fatality when CPD pursued shoplifting suspects into the city of Jackson. CPD Released the following statement



At approx. 11:40 P.M. Monday, officers of the Clinton Police Dept. were notified of a shoplifting that had just taken place at Wal-Mart on Hwy 80 in Clinton. The suspects had taken computer and electronics equipment. The tag on the suspect vehicle was switched and we are investigating the possibility that the car is stolen. The suspects were spotted by CPD officers as they left the parking lot and headed east toward Jackson.

CPD officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver chose to flee through west Jackson and Clinton Police Officers pursued in accordance with existing state law. JPD was notified and they did respond by blocking side streets. The suspect continued to flee until he crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle on Capitol St. at Tennessee Ave. in Jackson.














The wreck happens at 12:11 of the video. Officials from the city of Clinton and Jackson have extended sympathies to the family of the victim 34 year old Lonnie Blue Jr of Braxton, MS.
